The Flag of American Guyana
The design of the flag of Guyana, USA reflects the close ties that bind Guyana and the United States. The new Guyana flag is the official symbol of Guyana, USA, a political organization devoted to the legal incorporation of Guyana into the USA.
The new flag was created by Guyana, USA in order to rally support for the concept of an American Guyana. It is based upon Guyana’s national flag the Golden Arrowhead, which was designed by the late Professor Whitney Smith. Before his passing, Professor Smith suggested that the five-pointed white star be added to the red triangle of the flag of Guyana, USA. The new flag may one day be adopted as the national symbol and flag of Guyana, USA!
The new Guyana flag is red, white, and blue with a five-pointed star, emphasizing the close ties that bind Guyana to the USA. The flag is not typically flown except in company of the U.S. flag.
